Via Sheila Mangione, Ride Nipomo
"My daughter's barrel horse needs chiro treatments about every 6 weeks. We found a great chiropractor in Paso who is willing to schedule some visits to South County if there are 4-5 horses. His rates are very reasonable based on what I've heard from other people who get their horses treated. I'm wondering if there are other Ride Nipomo members who would be interested. I would be willing to coordinate a day for him to come down."

Help Keep Nipomo Trails Open
Ride Nipomo's fight for trails needs everyone's attention now more than ever
From Mary Ann McPherson:
On December 1st the Board of Supervisor rejected dedication of two trails in Nipomo. The County has made it clear through the years that they will not take on the expense of maintaining trials, not even under the best of budget times. The trails around the Black Lake Golf course were LOST because a group was not formed to monitor the development. The loss of the Black Lake trails was a pivotal loss for this community to have a connecting trail system which are also known as linear parks.
When the Widmark and Inga trails came before the BOS on December 1st,. Ride Nipomo has eight years of successful trail maintenance offered to take on these two additional trails at no cost to the County. With the offer of trail maintenance by Ride Nipomo taken out of the equation, the important question that should be on everyone's mind is WHY were these two trails denied?
Luckily, we have one chance left! The BOS has allowed this important item to be revisited later this year..
If we lose the Widmark trail we will lose the eastern connector to the bluff trail that links the west side to the Woodlands Trails. If we lose Inga, we have a major safety issue with horses crossing on an unsafe corner and forced to ride along the busy high speed traffic on Pomeroy.
We need your help now more that ever. Please join Ride Nipomo in 2010! The number of associate members we have helps to show our strength to the BOS. We need pressure put on the BOS and that takes the act of many not just a few. Please write letters to the Board of Supervisors and to the local newspapers.
When this item comes up RN will notify you of the date and we need to fill the BOS chambers (wear your cowboy hats so they know we are horse people) and show how important trails are to Nipomo. A mass showing will also help the BOS know how important trials are to the County of SLO.
