Important meeting for SLO County Equestrians

From Bob Perrault, Grover Beach City Manager

Hello-
My name is Bob Perrault, City Manager for the City of Grover Beach, and I am also an equestrian in my spare time.
As you may have heard, the City of Grover Beach is partnering with the State of California Parks Department and Pacifica Hotels from San Diego to construct a Lodge and Conference Center on property located adjacent to West Grand Avenue on State Park property. Specifically, the project would be located on property currently used by equestrians as a staging area for accessing the beach. The project is in the planning phase, and one of the contractual requirements of the project is that the equestrian staging area be relocated.

I would like to invite you to a meeting to be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 7:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers here at City Hall, 154 South 8thStreet, Grover Beach. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the concept of potentially moving the staging area to the south side of West Grand Avenue, in a safe location immediately adjacent to the Dunes Trail trailhead.  Not only are we interested in discussing this potential spot, but we would also like to consider amenities that you think should be included. Representatives of the City, the State and Pacifica Hotels will be on hand to discuss your interests and concerns.

We would like to get the word out to as many other interested parties as possible, so we encourage you pass this information along to other local equestrians.

Please feel free to contact me in advance of the meeting if you desire further information or have questions. I can be reached at (805) 473-4567. Thank you and we hope to see you at the meeting on Wednesday, April 14th.
Sincerely,

Bob Perrault
City Manager
