Brass Oak Driving Clinic

The clinic at Overlook Driving Center on June 26 will be about obstacles and how to drive them.  We will be working on improving our smoothness and overall time in hazards and cones by learning how to place our horse and carriage at the optimum spot on each turn we must make in the obstacle.  This will also make you a safer and more confident driver in recreational situations.  We will also play with some of the less common obstacle classes such as Gambler's Choice, Reverse Psychology and maybe some more.  Please bring your horse to this clinic if you want to drive or come without a horse if you want to observe and help, but not miss anything by having to take care of your horse.  Limit is 10 horses on a first registration basis.  Please register in advance and let us know if you want to bring a horse and whether you want a lunch.  Fee is the normal $20. for the clinic and $5. for lunch.  Call Linda Fairbanks at (805)237-8476 to register.

Work Day on National Trails Day

For National Trails Day, SLO County Parks is hosting a trail work day at Santa Margarita Lake on June 5.  Meet at the White Oak area at the front side to Santa Margarita Lake from 9 to 12.  Trail work will be done on Grey Pine Trail.  Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers (3CMB) will be bringing out tools.  Wear long sleeves and bring water for yourself.  Jim Patterson, County Supervisor for North County, will be in participating, so it's important that members from local horse clubs attend to get good "face time."   A bbq will be held after the trail work.  Please RSVP to ECOSLO by May 30 at 544-1777 or info@ecoslo.org so that enough food can be purchased.
